Casey Unitt – Rising tennis star and Batonbearer

Casey is a real inspiration and he’s only 14! He is a top ranked tennis player who travels all around the country representing Tipton Sports Academy and Staffordshire.

He’s also performing well on a national stage and continues to inspires fellow students at school.

Casey won the qualification rounds in the U14 Staffordshire County to reach the ‘Road to Wimbledon Finals 2021’. Once there, Casey played on the historic grass courts of Wimbledon, he played six matches to reach the final and be runner-up.

At the start of 2021, Casey’s British tennis ranking was 221 and over a year and a half he has increased to a highest of 29 in Great Britain.

Casey shows a superb attitude in all he does and deserves such praise. He is an aspiration to his peers and sets standards in PE and beyond.

Casey said: “It is a great honour to carry the baton and it will help me grow in confidence to be a top athlete when I’m older.”
