Ali Yahya Al-Osaimi – faith leader, mountaineering fundraiser and Batonbearer

Ali Yahya Al-Osaimi is a leading figure in the Yemeni community and he has a passion for mountaineering.

Over the years he has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to charity – all through his love of heights!

Ali, who works in Sandwell Council’s Public Heath team, is the Imam at the Yemeni Community Association. He’s been a community leader for a variety of Arabic speaking communities since he left Yemen.

He has been working in public health for more than a decade and he’s played a key role during the pandemic, working with faith and community groups to encourage vaccine take-up and tackle misinformation.

Ali carried the baton in West Bromwich. Find out more about our incredible day when the Queen’s Baton Relay came to Sandwell!
