The West Bromwich-born manager, Siobhan Hodgetts-Still, is showing young women and girls that a career in football is possible, as one of a new generation of female coaches at the top of their game.
Siobhan started at The Albion Foundation as an apprentice at 17 before playing for the Baggies as a midfielder for 9 years. She crossed the pond to coach in Florida and is now back in Sandwell as head coach of the women’s team. Some journey from Greets Green!
Siobhan said: “It was an unbelievable experience and honour for the players and staff to play at St James’ earlier this season. Newcastle men’s team played Fiorentina just before us and it was so good to see the fans stick around to support the ladies game afterwards. The girls had a great game and I was really proud seeing them give it their all in such an amazing stadium.
