Philip Hird – Games volunteer

Philip Hird, who works for Sandwell Council, is volunteering as a driver based at the Birmingham University Athletes Village.

He will be assigned to one of the 72 CGA nations who are competing at the Games, and he will be directed by that country’s Chef de Mission to support the daily requirements of their team.

Philip will be driving the team, doing organisation and admin tasks and using his customer service and problem-solving skills to keep things running smoothly.

Philip says: “I am excited and proud to be representing my city at the Games and appreciate the support given to me by Sandwell Council through our volunteer scheme, which allows me to volunteer for 18 hours in the seven days of scheduled volunteering.”
