A big congratulations to James Bastable from Tipton who earlier this year was named Competitor of the Year 2023-2024 by the Taekwondo Council United Kingdom!
James topped the leader board against fellow martial arts athletes from all over the UK and also scooped 2 gold medals at the Scottish Open as well as a silver and a gold medal competing against Team USA at the British Taekwondo Championship in July.
James trains and is also an instructor at Black Country Martial Arts Academy (BCMAA) in Tipton which specialises in traditional martial arts taekwondo as well as kickboxing.
“Winning the award blew my mind. Being a part of the club has boosted my confidence and introduced me to some really great people who I can pass my experience onto”, James said.
BCMAA welcomes members aged 6 to 55 and beyond, focusing on personal development, self-esteem, confidence building and self-defence. Three of their students featured in the top ten of the 2024 national governing body Taekwondo Council UK (TCUK) national group of tournaments!
