Dave Salt – A Bostin bloke

When you think of the word Bostin, there was nobody more Bostin than Dave Salt.

Dave worked for Sandwell Council for many years, starting in estate services, the youth service, then as a work experience co-ordinator in Neighbourhoods and more recently as part of Sandwell’s MOTIV8 project, supporting young people back onto the right track who had been involved in anti-social behaviour. He and his wife were foster carers for many years and had a real passion for helping young people.

Dave was a straight talker who impacted the lives of everyone he met. He was a friend and inspiration to so many young people who needed his help and guidance. Dave’s legacy will be through those youngsters who went on to do brilliant things, fulfilling their ambitions and going on to make him proud. We’ll never forget his booming laugh and infectious smile.

We lost Dave after a short battle with cancer. He’ll be forever remembered by his colleagues and friends at Sandwell. Our thoughts are with his family.
