Thursday (14 July) is Black Country Day, when we celebrate everything great about the Black Country.
Our friends at Sandwell Libraries will be celebrating Black Country history with the following talks – or you can join us for a cuppa!
At Central Library in West Bromwich on Thursday 14 July, you can enjoy a local history talk on The Story of Chances Glass by our archivist Ian Gray at 11am.
Also on Thursday at 11am, this time at Oldbury Library (based at Sandwell Council House) we’re hosting a local history talk – From Workhouse to Hospital. It’s a brief history of healthcare In Sandwell by Maureen Waldron, our local studies librarian.
And also on Thursday at Central Library in West Bromwich at 11am, you can join staff for Black Country Tay and Caerch – that’s tea and cake in Black Country spake!
There will also be photography exhibitions and coffee mornings in each town library.
And of course the Black Country Flag will be flying at the Council House as it does every day! Happy Black Country Day everyone!
